Toccoa 9-10 Baseball Moves On; Rain Delays Tourneys

The Toccoa 9-10 baseball All-Stars stay alive in the district tournament.

Toccoa defeated Hart Monday in Clarkesville, 10-3, in a game that was shortened to four innings due to a thunderstorm.

In the top of the first inning, Toccoa gave up a run to Hart, but sent 13 batters to the plate and scored seven runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead.

Toccoa added another run in the second to make it 8-1.

Hart scored twice in the top of the third, but Toccoa matched that in the bottom of the third to push the lead back out to the final seven-run margin of victory.

Due to the weather, the next game for Toccoa will be Wednesday at 7 pm against the winner of Rabun and Franklin as that game could not be completed due to the storm.

Also, Toccoa’s 10-11 baseball All-Stars will have to wait an extra day to play for a district championship.

The 10-11 game between Franklin and Hart, of which Toccoa will play the winner, was called due to weather Monday night and will have to be completed tonight.

Toccoa’s 10-11 baseball All-Stars will next play on Wednesday at 7 p.m. also.
