Toccoa City Commission To Meet Today

Toccoa City Commissioners will hold their first meeting for the month of June later today.

The city commission is set to meet today at 5 p.m. in the commission meeting room at Toccoa City Hall.

At their meeting later today, city commissioners are expected to consider a resolution to move forward with bidding out more planned street re-surfacing projects later this year in the city of Toccoa.

Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse said the city has put together a list of streets to be re-surfaced this year using SPLOST money.

Also today, the commission is expected to consider a resolution to establish funding for improvements to the Ward Creek area of the city’s wastewater system.

Morse said the city has SPLOST money to fund improvements to improve overflow problems during heavy rains at the Ward Creek liftstation.

In another utility department note, the agenda for today’s commission meeting include consideration of a project resolution for water treatment plant improvements.

Today’s city commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
