Toccoa Woman Injured in Friday Wreck in Habersham Co.

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate an accident last week in Habersham County that resulted in multiple injuries.

According to the Toccoa Post of the Georgia State Patrol, the three vehicle accident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Georgia Highway 365 and Duncan Bridge Road, or Georgia Highway 384.

Authorities state that a 2007 Toyota Camry Solara driven by 63-year-old Suzanne Myers of Turnerville failed to yield when turning onto Duncan Bridge Road from the northbound lanes of Highway 365.

The GSP report states that Myers’ vehicle struck a 2008 Chevrolet express van driven by 52-year-old James Sidars of Gainesville, which was headed south on Highway 365.

The van then struck a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 40-year-old Tricia Marie Burke of Toccoa that was traveling in the turn lane from Duncan Bridge Road onto Highway 365 South.

Both Burke’s and Sidars’ vehicles ended up striking a guardrail.

The GSP says Burke was airlifted to Grady with head injuries, while Myers was taken via ground to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Sidars was not transported for injuries.

According to the report, Myers told authorities she did not see any other vehicles as she began to turn.

Authorities indicate the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the wreck.
