Today is National Day of Prayer

Just a reminder,  today is the National Day of Prayer and like communities across the country, the City of Toccoa will be holding a public prayer service this morning on the grounds of the historic Stephens County Courthouse.

This year’s National Day of Prayer theme is: “For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us… Forgive Us…Heal Us!”

The theme is taken from Daniel 9:19, which says, “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God…”.

Sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Toccoa, a prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. this morning.

Stephens County High School Coach Kirk Rogers said the high school students organize the event for the community.

Toccoa has been holding a community prayer service on the National Day of Prayer for years and Rogers says he always gets good feedback from those who attend.

And as we always do, WNEG will be airing today’s National Day of Prayer service live beginning at 11 a.m.

One big change this year on the national level is that the National Day of Prayer Washington DC Observance will be moving to an evening event.
From 7:30 to 9 p.m. ET, you can tune in and watch the service live on the National Day of Prayer website, www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
